Access Policy for the Stanford University Libraries (SUL)

Upon presentation of appropriate identification, access to the
Stanford University Libraries is available to

a year free of charge upon registration (some form of identification
is required) and on a fee
basis through the Privileges Office at Green Library. The
Stanford University Libraries reserve the right to revoke the access
privileges of any individual in any category of user. There
are also departments and other libraries which have their own policies.

Jonsson Library of Government Documents
The Jonsson Library is a depository
for the publications of a number of government agencies and is thus
open to the public. Its collections are housed in the Green Library's
Bing Wing. Reference assistance is available at Green's Information
Center Desk.
Special Collections is open to researchers.
Please be sure to indicate that you are using Special
Collections when you register at Green. Due to the rare and
unique nature of the materials stored in Special Collections, researchers
are not allowed to browse the Department's stacks. However, patrons
are welcome to request that materials be brought to the Department's
reading room for their use on the second floor of Green Library's
Bing Wing, Rm. 200. Paging slips for requested items must be turned
in by 5 p.m. for a return time of 11:30 a.m. the following morning
or by 12 noon for a return time of 4 p.m. of the same day.
To request an item, patrons must complete a paging slip in the
Special Collections reading room or send an email request to speccoll@stanford.edu.
