The Bowes Art & Architecture Library currently offers three computing options for users:
For Stanford affiliates – requires Stanford University Net (SUnet) log-in:
For any user, including registered public visitors – no SUnet log-in required:
- Six public PC kiosk stations for connecting to the Libraries’ online catalog (SearchWorks) and the internet (one machine is connected to an Epson 12” x 17” flat-bed scanner).

Viewing Stations and Media Rooms
The Library has DVD and VHS viewing stations. In addition, there is one media viewing room with Blu-ray, DVD, and VHS players available for use to Stanford students, faculty, and staff. The media viewing room has a maximum capacity of five individuals, and must be used for viewing media only.
Headphones and remotes must be checked out at the Reference and Circulation desk in order to use this room.
Printing, Copying, and Scanning
Printing in the Libraries requires the use of your Stanford ID card or a Stanford Printing Card.
The Art Library has two multifunction machines that can print double-sided copies and may also be used as scanners and/or photocopiers.

Flatbed and Overhead Scanners
In addition to the multifunction machines, there are two Mac/PC computer workstations attached to two Epson 12” x 17” flatbed scanners that are available to use by Stanford students, faculty, and staff. A third, PC computer workstation, also with an Epson 12” x 17” scanner is available for use by non-Stanford-affiliated patrons.
A large format overhead BookEye scanner, ideal for scanning large format, fragile items is also available for use. The maximum-sized item that this scanner can capture is approximately 16” x 23”.
