Welcome to Fall Quarter 2021! As the campus reopens for in-person instruction, the East Asia Library has expanded its hours and updated its access policies.

Beginning on Monday, September 20, the East Asia Library's Fall Quarter hours will be as follows:

Monday - Thursday: 9:00 AM - 8:00 PM

Friday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM

The library will be closed on weekends. The most current hours can always be viewed on the Libraries' Hours page.

Access to the East Asia Library is subject to Stanford Libraries' Fall 2021 access guidelines. Currently, all Stanford Libraries facilities are only open for active Stanford ID cardholders. Visitor access is not allowed. All visitors must:

  • Show their Stanford ID card and tag in at the card reader on the EAL circulation desk.
  • Show a green Health Check badge (Spouse and Retiree ID cardholders who are unable to access Health Check can present a Health Attestation form, please email the East Asia Library to arrange entry).
  • Wear a mask at all times inside the library.

All facilities are currently open. Group study and seminar rooms have reopened and we are currently accepting reservations for these rooms. Available group study rooms may also be used on a first-come, first-served basis. Patrons who wish to use these rooms may inquire at the circulation desk for a key. More information on our group study and meeting rooms can be found at the room reservation page.
