Digital Library Software Developer, Digital Infrastructure Team (2 positions)

Stanford University Libraries is seeking three software developers to join a team supporting discovery, access, and delivery as part of its digital library. We are looking for a backend software engineer who has a passion for implementation and technical design of applications and APIs, and a full-stack software engineer who is skilled at front-end development and at translating wireframes into attractive, functional, modern full-stack applications.

Digital Library Software Developer, Access and Discovery Team (3 positions)

Stanford Libraries seeks three software developers to join a team supporting discovery, access, and delivery. The team is devoted to collaborative development of platforms and services to support the Library's mission of creating, preserving and making digital resources available in support of teaching, learning and research. The successful candidates will work on a variety of projects relating to the core functions of an academic library and its digital library, including discovery and fulfillment systems, digital object access and presentation, and many other patron-facing services.

 

Digital Projects and Data Manager

The Digital Projects and Data Manager is a member of a highly collaborative team engaged in the creation, management, preservation, and publishing of digital collections. In collaboration with archivists, metadata specialists, and software engineers, the Digital Projects and Data Manager supports the development of generalizable approaches and streamlined workflows to facilitate the processing of archival data to collection discovery platforms efficiently and at scale.

User Experience Designer

The User Experience Designer will take a primary role in understanding user requirements, defining functionality, and designing the interface and application flow of digital library services and web properties in order to meet user needs.

Repository Manager

The Repository Manager supports the operations and services of the Stanford Digital Repository: a system built, operated and maintained by Stanford Libraries for the long-term management of digital content of enduring value to teaching and research at Stanford. The Repository Manager role has two primary and complementary areas of focus: (1) running applications, workflows, systems, and tools that enable accessioning of digital content from a variety of sources to the SDR where the content is actively managed, preserved, transferred, and indexed to access systems for discovery and use; and (2) supporting content depositors from across the Stanford Library and beyond to Stanford departments, including faculty, students, and administrative staff.

Discovery and Access Service Manager

This new position plays a key role in developing, delivering, and supporting services related to the Stanford Libraries discovery and access systems, including SearchWorks and the Stanford Libraries web site.
